In 1995, Standard Development Corporation, LLC from Indianapolis was interested in developing a subdivision on the west side of Bloomington, IN. The developer approached the Wylie family about purchasing the land adjacent to State Road 48 and plans were underway to develop nearly 400 homes. After the sale was complete, Crossman communities was contracted as the builder and the lots in the first two phases of Fieldstone were ready for sale.

After moving the existing home on the Wylie farmland in January 1996, homes were being constructed on Windstone Ct and and a new model home on Stoneview Way. On September 25 1996, the first two homes closed in the subdivision on Windstone Ct. Several other homes were near completion on Stoneview Way, Windstone Ct. and Woodfield Ln. After all homesites were purchased in Phase 1, construction in Phase 2 began. Separated by the bridge and river leading to the dam, construction continued in Phases 3 & 4. After Crossman communities was sold to Beazer homes, Mahoney homes finished building on the remaining homesites in Phase 4 and started constructing paired patio homes that became Summerfield.
